Are you a regular soldier or police officer with operational experience and interested in an interesting profession after your period of service? Then learn the trade of a maritime security specialist. In this training, you will receive all the qualifications and get the knowledge that you need for the profession of maritime security specialist.
Training content:
- Basic principles of the law of public safety and order, regulations of trade law, the civil code, criminal and procedural law, accident prevention and maritime laws.
- Behavior in dangerous situations and de-escalation techniques in conflict situations
- Regulations of the ISPS Code and the ISM Code as well as in dealing with transports of dangerous goods
- Behavior on board and basic seamanship skills
- Technology related to seagoing vessels and equipment
- Weapons technology
- Weapons law and foreign trade law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the relevant port and coastal states
- First aid and life saving at sea (first aid, medical assistants)
- Threat situation in endangered sea areas, in particular procedures and armament of certain groups of perpetrators, targets of attacks
- Military operations in endangered sea areas, in particular reporting procedures and possible intervention measures of deployed armed forces
- Guidelines of the International Maritime Organization
- Service instructions according to § 5 paragraph 2 of the ordinance
- Tactics for operational procedures at sea
- English for maritime operations
- Shooting training long and short gun
- Basic safety training according to STCW
- Instruction in technical knowledge according to § 31 Gewebeordnung (GewO) in connection with § 10 Sachkunde gem. Seeschiffbewachungsverordnung (SeeBewachV)
- Instruction for expert knowledge according to §34a Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (GewO)
- Examination of fitness for sea service (medical service BG Verkehr)
- Vaccination against yellow fever (public health officer)
- Application for positions with potential employers
Participation requirements:
- at least 21 years old
- at least four years as a temporary soldier or completed police training
- preferably former combat soldier and paramedic of the German Armed Forces with operational experience
- driving license class B
- stable character
- physically and mentally resilient
- German language skills (written and spoken)
- impeccable police clearance certificate
- ability to work in a team
Certificates and diplomas after passing the training:
- recognized certificate from the training provider – Maritime Security Operator
- Certificate of competence in basic safety training in accordance with the current version of STCW
- Certificate of competence according to § 31 Gewebeordnung (GewO) in connection with § 10 Sachkunde gem. Seeschiffbewachungsverordnung (SeeBewachV)
- IHK certificate of competence acc. to §34a Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (GewO)
- Weapons expertise according to § 7 Weapons Act (WaffG)
- First aid certificate
- Certificate of fitness for sea service
